- Lake Como NJ — Jersey Shore (07719): 0.25 sq mile borough sandwiched between Belmar (south) and Spring Lake (north). Lake Como Beach is small (one block), $10 daily beach badge in season ($60 weekly); the larger guarded sections are Belmar's. Walk to Lake Como (the actual freshwater lake), Sylvan Lake, and the boardwalk. Day trips: Asbury Park (10 min south for the boardwalk and Wonder Bar), Sandy Hook (30 min north), Manhattan (~1 hr 20 min via NJ Transit out of Belmar station). Belmar's bar scene on Main Street and the boardwalk runs late summer weekends — standard Jersey Shore awareness.
- Lake Como PA — Wayne County (18437): tiny Pocono-area borough on PA-247; population ~150. Essentially a cluster of summer cottages around a small lake. No commercial centre. Day trips: Honesdale (25 min south for the historic Main Street and the Stourbridge Line tourist railroad), Lake Wallenpaupack for boating (45 min south), Scranton (75 min south-west for the Steamtown National Historic Site and the Office tour), the Catskills NY (1 hr north). Black bears active at dusk; don't leave food on cabin porches.
- Lake Como WI (CDP near Lake Geneva, 53147): census-designated place on a small lake just north of Lake Geneva town. Day trips: Lake Geneva proper (10 min south for the Geneva Lake Shore Path, the historic mansions, the steamboat fleet), Milwaukee (90 min north-east), Chicago (90 min south).
- Lake Como MS — Panola County (38619): tiny North Mississippi village on US-51, between Memphis and Jackson. Sardis Lake recreation area (15 min west) is the main draw; Como Steakhouse on Main Street is a legitimate roadhouse-blues institution. Day trips: Memphis (75 min north for Beale Street, Sun Studio, Graceland), Oxford MS (45 min south-east for Ole Miss and Square Books), Clarksdale (90 min south-west for the Delta blues circuit).
