Safest Neighbourhoods in Jaffa Old City, Tel Aviv (and Areas to Avoid)
Jaffa's tourist areas — what's where
- Old Jaffa hill (Kedumim Square, St Peter's Church, the artists' quarter): heritage core; restaurants (The Old Man and the Sea, NaNuchka, Onza); galleries. Safe and well-policed.
- Clock Tower Square (Migdal HaShaon): tourist anchor; café terraces; nightly busy.
- Shuk HaPishpishim (flea market): by day junk and antiques; by night one of Tel Aviv's hottest bar strips (Casbah, Imperial, Container).
- Yefet Street: the southern artery; Abulafia (24-hour bakery, the iconic Jaffa stop), hummus joints, mixed Jewish-Arab cafés.
- Jaffa Port (HaNamal): renovated marina; restaurants and the Container event venue. Evening busy.
- Lower Jaffa / Florentin border: residential, mixed character; not a tourist destination but not high-risk either.
