Safest Neighbourhoods in Faridabad (and Areas to Avoid)
Neighbourhoods + Delhi NCR connection
- New Faridabad / Sectors 12, 15, 16, 17, 21 — the planned post-1990s sectors along the Mathura Road / NH-2 corridor. Wider roads, gated condominium complexes (Omaxe Heights, BPTP), the Crown Interiors Mall, the Asian Hospital and Fortis Escorts campuses. The practical base for business visitors.
- Sectors 8, 9, 10, 11 (Old Industrial) — the older industrial sectors with the original Faridabad manufacturing belt (auto components, garments, electronics). Mixed residential and small-factory. Rougher feel, narrower roads, but the historical core.
- Old Faridabad (around the railway station) — the pre-1947 town with the wholesale markets, the Old Faridabad railway station, narrower bazaar streets. Dense, chaotic, the cheapest accommodation but not where business visitors stay.
- Surajkund — the southern edge of Faridabad bordering the Aravalli foothills, with the Surajkund reservoir (an 11th-century rajput-era tank) and the annual Surajkund International Crafts Mela in February — the one major tourism event drawing visitors from across Delhi NCR.
- Greater Faridabad / Neharpar — the newer residential development east of NH-2, with high-rise condos, the upcoming Jewar International Airport connection road, and gated communities aimed at Delhi/Gurugram commuters.
- Ballabhgarh (south, 15 km) — the historically separate town, now functionally Faridabad's southern extension. Industrial, residential, with the Anangpur dam and the Asola-Bhatti wildlife sanctuary nearby.
- Delhi NCR connection: Faridabad sits in the southern arc of the Delhi National Capital Region, between Delhi proper (north) and the Yamuna Expressway (east, the toll road to Agra/Taj Mahal). Gurugram is 25-35 km west via the KMP Expressway. The Delhi Metro Violet Line is the practical commuter link to central Delhi (Kashmere Gate, ITO, Lajpat Nagar, Janpath).
